Ms. Rhomberg’s background is a fascinating mix of positions that make her one of the most diversified quality professionals in the United States. Since 1997, she has worked in the field of quality.

In the 1980's, she was an on air disc jockey for college radio station KCMU in Seattle, laying the ground for an eclectic format that is still in play at the station (now KEXP). She then moved into the promotion and production of live shows and concerts, offering Seattleites new, avant-garde or international bands and performers such as Nirvana, Goo Goo Dolls, Michelle Shocked, Jim Carroll, World Saxophone Quartet, Ornette Coleman, and Youssou N’Dour.

During the 80's, Ms. Rhomberg also worked for five years with United Parcel Service (UPS), in Seattle The first two years were as a customer service representative. She then became a driver for a new air package pick-up service. She was the first driver promoted from that position to become a supervisor and dispatcher for On Call Air and Saturday Pickup. From Seattle, air drivers in Alaska, Oregon and Montana were dispatched, using new (at the time) GPS technology.

After Seattle, while living in Taiwan for a year, Ms. Rhomberg taught English to Chinese students, and studied Mandarin Chinese. Moving back to the United States, she returned to her native Midwest, locating to Chicago. She used her concert production skills as a planner and producer for corporate special events in fabulous Chicago locations such as Navy Pier and the Field Museum of Natural History.

Ms. Rhomberg then ventured into the field of Quality. Her ability to grasp the essentials of quality assurance, quickly earned her a position with Perry Johnson Registrars as an ISO 9000 and QS 9000 Lead Auditor in 1998. In 2000, she earned IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors) credentials as an internationally Certified Lead Auditor. And in 2002, she received certification from the ASQ (American Society for Quality), as a "Certified Quality Auditor" (CQA).

While employed at Shure, (world market leader for microphones & audio electronics), from 2000-2003, Ms. Rhomberg served as its Senior Quality/Safety Representative. In the quality capacity, she managed and implemented a successful ISO 9001: 2000 upgrade in one year for Shure Corporate offices, as well as, six manufacturing plants worldwide. Ms. Rhomberg helped establish Shure’s first-ever complete process documentation of its’ large Engineering Division, while bringing them under the scope of ISO registration.

She acted as a consultant to Shure’s plants and subsidiary on both the QS 9000 and ISO 9000 standards. As Safety Manager, she developed emergency & safety procedures for corporate headquarters and its Illinois plants, and developed a new team structure for corporate emergency, safety & ergonomics teams.

In 2006, Ms. Rhomberg expanded her skills by working with a calibration lab in downtown Chicago. At JLW Instruments (www.jlwinstruments.com) she manages the Quality program for ISO 17025:2005, and successfully led the re-accreditation process in 2007.

Ms. Rhomberg currently works as an independent consultant to companies looking to improve their quality management systems, in addition to part-time work as the QA Manager at JLW Instruments. She works as an independent contract auditor to registrars for ISO 9001:2000. She is certified as an active QMS 2000 certified Lead Auditor by IRCA, the International Registrar for Certificated Auditors (for verification, see www.irca.org, Auditor #A014301)).

Ms. Rhomberg spends her extra time doing volunteer work for Girls Rock Chicago, and as a foster parent for DCFS. She is currently fostering a toddler whom she hopes to adopt.
